IIT Madras Hostel Mess Food
Among the secretaries comprising the Hostel Council is a Mess Secretary that looks after the mess of that particular hostel.
The mess secretary is responsible for running the messes in co-ordination with the mess committee. They decide the menu and also keep the quality in check.
If they are any grievances regarding the food or the menu, students can complain to the mess secretary or the mess committee.
At IIT Madras, the food quality matches the reputation of the prestigious institute. They have two separate messes, one serving South-Indian and the other serving North-Indian.
The menu changes every week to retain pupils’ interest in the mess food. The quality is great as well as the taste. Students studying there are reportedly well satisfied with the mess.
